Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park
Location:6 miles east of Woodville, off SR 363 on Natural Bridge Road.
Facilities:Picnic tables.
Activities:A reenactment of the battle is held here every year in March.
Special Features:It was here at the Battle of Natural Bridge that volunteers and
Confederate forces repelled three attacks and several skirmishes
against Union forces to keep Tallahassee as the only Confederate
capital east of the Mississippi River not captured by the Union.
Natural Bridge is also the area where the Saint Marks River drops into
a sinkhole and flows underground for a quarter mile before re-emerging.
