Location:Along Highway 39/69, south of New Glarus.
Facilities:32 campsites, 6 group camps, picnic area, hiking trails (7 miles), playground.
Activities:Camping (including winter camping), hiking, backpacking, biking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, wildlife observation, naturalist programs (seasonal), hunting, picking of edible fruits, nuts, asparagus and mushrooms.
Special Features:Located near the Sugar River Trail, park features quiet campsites in an undisturbed woodland. The space that is now the group campground was originally logged to build a sawmill that today houses the administrative office. The lumber milled there was made into barrels to ship Limburger cheese on a railroad line that would later become the Sugar River State Trail. Hilly terrain kept much of the park from being logged, leaving many trees untouched; some are more than 250 years old.
