Location:In Jasper County, in southern Illinois, via the Effingham exit off I-57 and I-70.
Facilities:Multi-use trails (22 miles), mountain bike trail (5 miles), boat ramp, concession.
Activities:Boating (25 HP limit), fishing (size and catch limits), hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding.
Special Features:Park operates as a day-use conservation area under lease from Central Illinois Public Service Company, with recreational activities limited by agreement. Jasper County has the largest of three prairie chicken flocks still existing in Illinois, and CIPSC has designated a portion of the property as an additional prairie chicken sanctuary.
