Location:North-central Idaho. Accessible by US 12 and 95; ID 13 and 14. Nearby cities/towns include Grangeville and Kooskia.
Facilities:3 rental cabins, 70 campgrounds, hiking and bridle trails, snowmobile trails, boat launch, lookout tower, scenic drives.
Activities:Camping, hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, whitewater rafting, hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, mountain biking.
Special Features:Five rivers designated as Wild and Scenic: Rapid, Salmon, Selway, Snake, and Middle Fork of the Clearwater; 4 wilderness areas, comprising nearly half of the forest's total acreage; Hells Canyon National Recreation Area (see separate entry in this section).
