Ninotsminda

a village in the Georgian SSR, located approximately 35 to 40 km east of Tbilisi. It contains the ruins of a large stone church dating from the middle of the sixth century. The foundation of the church is tetragonal, and there are four small rooms between four main apses. Although the rooms have two apses on the inside, they are semicircular in shape on the outside. A three-story brick campanile (1550’s) and the two-story residence of the metropolitan (1774–77) are located near the church. The campanile is topped by a many-sided kiosk with a pyramidal roof.

14 August 2012 - UK firm Blake Oil and Gas Ltd said today it had agreed to sell to French MND Group AS 50% in its Georgia-based oil and gas exploration operating subsidiaries Ninotsminda Oil Co Ltd, Canargo (Nazvrevi) Ltd and Canargo Norio Ltd.

As part of the joint venture deal, MND Group will provide financing for a significant work programme to help speed up the development of the Ninotsminda field, which is already producing, and to conclude the appraisal of the substantial Manavi and Norio oil and gas discoveries.
