Nullarbor Plain

a vast low plateau of S Australia: extends north from the Great Australian Bight to the Great Victoria Desert; has no surface water or trees. Area: 260 000 sq. km (100 000 sq. miles)

In 1919, after a long association with Aborigines in Western Australia, she set up a camp at a siding called Ooldea on the South Australian side of the Nullarbor Plain and stayed there for the next 16 years.
