Oil of Siberian Fir

 

an essential oil obtained from the young branches and needles of the Siberian silver fir (Abies sibirica). Oil of Siberian fir is a colorless or yellowish green liquid. It contains the terpenoids bornyl acetate (30–43 percent), camphene (18–20 percent), borneol, and pinene, as well as a number of other substances. The oil dissolves in organic solvents. It is used in perfumery, in medicine, and in the preparation of camphor.
