Olekma Stanovik

 

a system of mountain ranges in eastern Transbaikalia, Chita Oblast, RSFSR. It includes the Tungirskii and Muroiskii ranges. Elevations, to 1,911 m (Mount Kropot-kin); length, approximately 400 km. The ranges are composed primarily of granite. The slopes are covered with larch forests. Sparse forests are found above 1,200 m, and mountain balds occur above 1,500 m. The valley floors are covered with dwarf shrub formations and goosefoot.
