PSNEXT
(Power Sum NEXT) In a four-pair cable, it is the algebraic sum of near end crosstalk (NEXT) of three pairs as they affect one pair. The cable is tested to 660 MHz and guarantees +4 dB of NEXT headroom, +4 dB of
PSNEXT headroom, +6 dB of ELFEXT headroom and +6 dB of PSELFEXT headroom.
A more severe test is power-sum NEXT (
PSNEXT) that subjects one pair to the signals transmitted on the other three pairs in the same cable.
Power sum NEXT and ELFEXT (
PSNEXT, PSELFEXT) represent the addition of crosstalk noise from each group of three pairs onto the fourth pair.
