Pachuca

(Pachuca de Soto), a city in central Mexico and the capital of the state of Hidalgo. Population, 84,500 (1970). The city is a railroad station and a major silver-mining center, one of the oldest in Mexico. Pachuca has food, wool, and nonferrous metallurgy industries.
