Page, Oran

Page, Oran “Hot Lips”

(1908–54) jazz musician; born in Dallas, Texas. He was a trumpeter and blues singer who appeared with Walter Page, Bennie Moten, and Count Basie before leading his own New York-based orchestra in 1937 and 1938. From 1941 to 1942, he was a featured sideman with Artie Shaw, and he free-lanced thereafter.
