(50) During decision making in conditions with both a low and high potential for a loss, the study found that binge drinkers had greater activation in the OFC, superior parietal cortex, and DLPFC compared with control subjects.
The lack of activation in parietal elements of the executive network during this phase may be related to the role of the parietal cortex in disengagement of attention rather than in focusing attention [7].
[28] showed that 5 Hz rTMS applied during the retention period to the midline parietal cortex speeded reaction times in working memory task without decreasing accuracy.

To validate and clarify the stimulation patterns on ECoG activity we performed PCA in both frontal and parietal cortex. PCA from parietal channel has shown how all the stimuli generated patterns of neural activity clearly separated, while PCA applied to the other channel suggested that stimulus-evoked activity was attenuated in frontal area since spatiotemporal information mainly activated the parietal region as reported in literature [34].
Recently, an ALE meta-analysis found increased activation in the lateral and medial PFC, parietal cortex, insula, and the caudate and thalamus.[sup][29] However, decreased activation and the effect of different study methods (ROI vs.
Within areas of the frontal and parietal cortex, which are important for thinking and decisionmaking, they found lower than normal connectivity.
