Particleboard

1. A panel product used in cabinets and furniture, generally made from wood fiber glued together with a binder. Similar to medium-density fiberboard, yet with a coarser texture. Most particleboard is made with formaldehyde-emitting urea-formaldehyde binder, although some wood particle-board and all straw particleboard use a nonformaldehyde methyl diisocyanate or low-emitting phenol-formaldehyde binder.
2. A large class of building boards made from wood particles compressed in a binder; often faced with a veneer. See also: Masonite

particleboard

A large class of building boards made from wood particles and a binder; usually has a density of 25 to 50 lb per cu ft (400 to 800 kg per cu m); often faced with veneer. Also See chipboard; coreboard.

The production of particleboard with 20 weight percent CNF is too costly to be practical, even if this particleboard achieved higher performance than particleboard with 1 weight percent UF or PF.
