Pastbishchnyi

 

a mountain range in the western and central Greater Caucasus, extending north of the Skalistyi Range; a cuesta. Approximately 400 km long, the range has elevations to 1,200–1,500 m. The crest regions are composed of Cretaceous limestones. The ranges Borgustan and Dzhinal (1,541 m), near Kislovodsk, are part of the Pastbishchnyi system.
