Peltigera

 

a genus of lichens of the family Peltigeraceae. The leafy, usually large-lobed thallus is gray, grayish green, or grayish brown above and lighter below, with pinkish or brownish veins. Of the approximately 70 of species Peltigera, 18 are found in the forests, tundra, and meadows of the USSR. The lichens grow on moss-covered roots, rotting wood, soil, and rocks.
