Pidurutalagala

the highest peak on Sri Lanka. Elevation, 2,524 m. Pidurutalagala, which rises 500-700 m above the adjacent plateaus, is composed of granites and gneisses. The peak is dome-shaped. On the slopes there are dense thickets of low equatorial forest; at the foot of the peak there are tea plantations.
