Pine Bluff

 

a city in the southern USA, in Arkansas, on the Arkansas River. Population, 57,000 (1970; with suburbs, 85,-000).

Pine Bluff is the market center of an agricultural region that grows cotton and vegetables. The city’s manufacturing industry employs 6,000 people (1972). Pine Bluff has woodworking, furniture, military-chemical, and food-processing (cotton-ginning, cottonseed-oil production, and livestock slaughtering) industries.
