Pockels readout optical modulator

A device for storing data in the form of images; it consists of bismuth silicon oxide crystal coated with an insulating layer of parylene and transparent electrodes evaporated on the surfaces; a blue laser is used for writing and a red laser is used for nondestructive readout or processing. Abbreviated PROM.
