Pointe-à-Pitre
a city and major economic center of the French possession of Guadeloupe in the West Indies. Population, 29,500 (1967); port on the Caribbean Sea. There is sugar production in Pointe-à-Pitre. Exports include sugar, rum, and tropical fruits.
