IONCE played cricket with Alex Kersey-Brown in
Porlock, that beautiful coastal village in Somerset that is surrounded by the hills of Exmoor.
Among the cases dealt with by Teesside Magistrates' Court on August 3 were: Graham Snowdon, 48, of
Porlock Road, Billingham, fined PS600 with PS145 costs for using a vehicle without insurance.
Now in its 13th year, the annual event includes about 40 walks in areas around Ilfracombe, Lynton,
Porlock and Dunster.

Porlock Hill Toll Road which was so twisty and we managed to find a fair bit of grip."
RD Blackmore also based romantic tragedy Lorna Doone between Lynmouth and
Porlock, an area of huge hills and steeply climbing roads.
He revealed how he fell in love with the spot after discovering the tumbledown remains of a 17th century bark-drying house in Embelle Wood near
Porlock, with his son in 1985.
