The series is also equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, including IGMP snooping, port mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), as well as L3 lite Static Routing.
Along with market-leading FPGA functionality the L Series combines rich Layer 1+ network functions on the same device, to reduce complexity and cost, including signal regeneration, port mirroring and media conversion.
The 7900 also includes VLAN, QoS, trunking (link aggregation), port mirroring and automatic IGMP configuration to optimize network performance.
<p>The switch supports adaptive routing, port mirroring, end-to-end congestion management and subnet partitioning.
It explains that when port mirroring is used to access network traffic, typically either one channel of a full-duplex link or only a half-duplex link is used.
The Shadow "Insider Threat" Network Sensor can be implemented on any inexpensive network hub or switch that supports "port mirroring".
Both the DES-1228 and DES-1252 include 4 Gigabit 1000 BASE T Ports (2 combo SFP ports), and functions such as IGMP snooping, 802.1x user authentication, port mirroring, Spanning Tree, Port trunks and 802.3x Flow Control to enhance performance and network resilience.
Features include advanced IP Port/DSCP or 802.1 p-based QoS with rate limiting; WRR; VLAN tagging; broadcast storm control; port trunking; port mirroring; dual firmware images; and Web management security.
