Songs seven to nine from Dichterliebe are representative of such consecutive contrasts: the menacing fiddler's music at the beloved's wedding in "Das ist ein Floten und Geigen," followed by the tears of "Hor ich" (discussed above), with its poignant climax in the
postlude, and the biting sarcasm of "Ein Jungling liebt ein Madchen," demand superb control of constantly changing dynamics, timing, atmosphere, color, and mood.
The structure of Hayakawa's (Example 3) and Yakushev's (Example 4) share some superficial similarity: both open with a short introduction, and include an interlude and
