Potter, Edward T.
(1831–1904)American architect in New York who specialized in High Victorian Gothic churches and colleges. His polygonal Nott Memorial (1878), Schenectady, NY, featured an exposed iron interior structure, domed clerestory, and Moorish polychrome exterior. He also designed the Mark Twain House (1881) with Alfred H. Thorp, Hartford, CT, emphasizing the Stick style and French domestic architecture.
