Poverty Point Reservoir State Park
Location:Off LA 17, just north of Delhi in Richland Parish.
Facilities:37 premium campsites (water, electrical and sewerage hookup), 17
improved campsites, 4 rental lodges (1 @di), picnic area, trails,
swimming beach, comfort stations, marina with covered boat slips, 2
boat launches, 2 fishing piers, fish-cleaning stations, concession area.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking.
Special Features:Fish and wildlife species migrating through the reservoir are numerous,
and the region falls within the Mississippi flyway for many species of
birds. The eastern edge of the park along Bayou Macon contains
attractive bear habitat, and visitors are cautioned that special
attention should be given to any Louisiana black bear sightings on or
near the reservoir.
