Established: 1963.
Location:On the west shore of Delaware Bay, 32 miles southeast of Dover.
Facilities:Visitor center, viewing sites, hiking trails, boat launch, boardwalk.
Activities:Canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Forested lands are managed to provide habitat for the Delmarva fox squirrel, and bald eagle.
Habitats: 10,000 acres of freshwater and salt marshes, woodlands, grasslands, scrub-brush habitats, ponds, bottomland forest, agricultural lands, and a 7-mile creek.
Access: Open from dawn to dusk.
Wild life: Geese, wood ducks, black ducks, mallards, gadwalls, slamanders, lizards, turtles, frogs, toads, horseshoe crabs, white-tailed deer, and wild turkey.
