The original code name from Sun for the development of Java-based standards for storage services and management. Launched in 1999 as the Jiro platform and evolving to the Jini Community, the specifications provide standards for data services and management services. Areas covered include backup, remote mirroring and data sharing, plus serviceability, configurability, online diagnostics, and policy management.
