Inhibition of PLK1 causes mitotic arrest in prometaphase and subsequent cell death.
Interestingly, CENP-E is involved in the initial alignment of chromosomes at the spindle equator on the metaphase plate, and therefore, it is required for steady spindle microtubule capture at the kinetochores, which is a critical step in proper chromosome congression during prometaphase.
At prometaphase, 18S-25S rDNA sites also arrange peripherically and adjacent to each other (Fig.

Among these 8 pathway interactions, the DNA replication pathway (ID: 281) interacted with three pathways, i) APC/C-mediated degradation of cell cycle proteins (ID: 77), ii) regulation of mitotic cell cycle (ID: 850), and iii) mitotic prometaphase (ID: 602).
role of cyclin Bl/Cdc2 up-regulation in the induction of mitotic prometaphase arrest in human breast cancer cells treated with 2-methoxyestradiol.
Microinjection of serum containing ACA into mouse oocytes could hinder chromosome congression and cause meiotic arrest in interphase or mitotic arrest in prometaphase [8].
The process of mitosis is divided into five stages: prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
