Prosser, William Lloyd
(1898– ) legal scholar; born in New Albany, Ind. A Harvard graduate, he earned a law degree at the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the law faculties of the University of Minnesota (1929–42) and Harvard (1947–48) before becoming dean of the law school at the University of California: Berkeley (1948–63). He published books on torts.
