Puccinia

 

a genus of rust fungi with bicellular teliospores on a long stem. There are more than 3,000 species (according to other data, about 4,000 species). The fungi parasitize angiospermous plants in almost all parts of the world. Many species are agricultural pests, causing disease in grains, legumes, and industrial crops.
