Pyrogenic Processes
The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased.
Pyrogenic Processes
methods used in industrial technology for high-temperature processing of organic raw materials. Because of the variety of pyrogenic processes, the term is used only infrequently and is usually replaced by the name of the specific thermal process, such as coking and semicoking of coals and carbonaceous shale, pyrolysis of petroleum raw material, cracking, and thermal degradation of polymers.
