Ramganga

a river in India, a left tributary of the Ganges. It is approximately 600 km long. Originating on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, the Ramganga crosses the Siwalik Range and below it flows over the Indo-Gangetic Plain. It is fed by snow and rain. Flash floods, during which the flow rates reach 2,800 cu m per sec, occur in the summer, causing severe damage. The river basin has numerous irrigation systems. The city of Moradabad is situated on the Ramganga.
