The histological exam revealed a clear cell
renal cell carcinoma (Figure 2).
Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) scanning is used in staging the
renal cell carcinoma and also has the advantage of characterizing the cystic and solid nature of the mass as well as the extent of the tumour8.

In conclusion, this case demonstrates the combined value of hydrodissection with pyeloperfusion to successfully perform CT-guided MWA for a
renal cell carcinoma arising from the medial lower pole.
The morphological appearances and IHC profiles were suggestive of metastatic
renal cell carcinoma. The patient also underwent liver biopsy.
The main objective is to present the rationale and guide the post-treatment followup in patients with localized and locally advanced

renal cell carcinoma at our institution from January 2006 to July 2017.
In the European Union, Norway and Iceland, the product is indicated as a first line treatment for adult patients with advanced
renal cell carcinoma. It is also indicated for adult patients who are vascular endothelial growth factor receptor and mTOR pathway inhibitor-naive following disease progression after one prior treatment with cytokine therapy for advanced
renal cell carcinoma.
