Rorer, Sarah Tyson
Rorer, Sarah Tyson (b. Heston)
(1849–1937) educator, author, dietitian; born in Richboro, Pa. She was a popular author and lecturer who helped make cooking a science. Her Philadelphia Cooking School classes (1883–1903) provided cooks, slumdwellers, and medical institutions with programs stressing nutrition and chemistry. She wrote among other cookbooks the Philadelphia Cook Book (1886).
