Indeed, it was Hulme's dissertation ("The Operettas of Sir Arthur Sullivan: A Study of Available Autograph Full Sores" [PhD diss., University of Wales, 1986]) that established the field of Sullivan source studies, and his own edition of Ruddigore (Oxford University Press, 2000) is clearly the model for Colin Jagger's edition of The Yeomen of the Guard, for which Hulme also served as "consultant editor." (Hereinafter, Jagger's full score will be cited as "FS"; the vocal score as "VS.")
