Rutaceous Peel
the colored external layer of the pericarp in plants of the family Rutaceae (orange, lemon, sour orange). The peel of rutaceous plants has glandular follicles containing essential oils that impart fragrance to the fruits. Rutaceous peels are used in the confectionery and alcoholic beverages industries.
