sensitivity time control
[‚sen·sə′tiv·əd·ē ′tīm kən‚trōl] (electronics)
In a radar receiver a circuit which greatly reduces the gain at the time that the transmitter emits a pulse; following the pulse, the circuit increases the sensitivity; thus reflection from distant objects will be received and those from nearby objects will be prevented from saturating the receiver.
