Silver Tree

(Leucadendron argenteum), a tree of the family Proteaceae. The silvery gray, silky leaves are densely covered with slender hairs. The flowers are dioecious and gathered in heads. The silver tree is widely cultivated in southern Africa, its native habitat. The leaves are used in the production of ornamental articles (for example, bookmarks), and the bark is used for tanning hides. [23–887–]
