Sheehan's syndrome
[′shē·ənz ‚sin‚drōm] (medicine)
Pituitary necrosis caused by insufficient blood supply to the gland due to copious blood loss or intravascular clotting and hemorrhage associated with premature separation of the placenta during childbirth. Also known as postpartum pituitary necrosis.
