These include most prominently the monocotyledons Moraea
sisyrinchium, Leopoldia longipes and Ixiolirion tataricum and the eudicotyledon Heliotropium bacciferum.
Student teams collected measurements for five plant species, two of which are endemic to glades: Nashville Breadroot (Pediomelum subacaulis--endemic), Nashville Mustard (Leavenworthia stylosa--endemic), Blue-eyed Grass (
Sisyrinchium albidum), Shooting-Star (Dodecatheon meadia), and Star-Grass (Hypoxis hirsuta).
These could include flowering shrubs, a ryegrass lawn, and sturdy perennials and ground cover such as begonias, periwinkle,
sisyrinchium and ornamental grasses.

A couple more "irisy" plants are Gynandiris
sisyrinchium and Hermodactylus tuberosus.
A THE photograph you sent to me shows a form of
Sisyrinchium Striatum called Aunt May, which originated in Devon.
Affinities with North American flora are seen in the presence of species such as blue-eyed grass (
Sisyrinchium bermudiana), which, outside Ireland, has its closest geographical location in Newfoundland, or the pipewort (Erio-caulon aquaticum), an Eurocaulaciae very rare both in northern Scotland and North America, the other areas where it exists.
Two of the species,
Sisyrinchium mentanum (Iridacese) and Leontodon autumnalis (Asteracese), are considered rare in Ocean County.
