Skawina

 

a city in southern Poland, in Krakow Województwo; situated on the Vistula River. Population, 18,500 (1973). Skawina has an aluminum plant and various enterprises for the production of refractory materials, concrete construction units, and food concentrates. It also has a steam electric power plant with a capacity of 500 megawatts.
