Further studies have shown that the inclusion of Bi in Pb-free alloys can stabilize the mechanical properties if the alloy is aged above its
solvus. This stabilization is due to the Bi particles dissolving into the Sn matrix when heated above its
solvus, and then precipitating out uniformly when cooled.
At temperatures below the
solvus curve, a solid solution is no longer structurally stable but tends to reject solute atoms from its own lattice.
The Mn7C3
solvus in the liquid Cu-Mn-C alloy increases from 2 at% (0.4%) C at about 1173K (900C) to 3 at% (0.6%) C at about 1248K (975C), above which a second liquid solution, a little richer in carbon (L2), becomes the saturation phase.
DHC testing is sensitive to the temperature history, the maximum value is attained by cooling from a temperature higher than the
solvus temperature of hydrogen in the specimen, and therefore a temperature cycle was applied to all specimens before testing.
Rising Na contents indicate rising temperatures according to the known muscovite-paragonite
solvus (e.g., Chatterjee and Flux, 1986) especially since higher Na contents were observed in Si richer micas.
Tantalum, dissolving in [gamma]'-phase, increases temperature of full dissolution (
solvus) of the latter and limit temperature of the alloy serviceability.
La zona de solucion alcanza una temperatura maxima entre la temperatura eutectica y la temperatura de
solvus de la aleacion.

Solvus NV, the staffing agency that owns Bureau van Dijk, said the company will realize a capital gain of 2.3m euros ($2.8m) from the sale, of which 800,000 ($977,000) will be accounted for in 2004.
