Spanish Colonial style

(1650–1840)
Adobe-brick wall construction covered with a lime wash or plaster characterized this style. Rounded roof beams were extended over porches, which were covered with tile roofs. Missions of the U.S. Southwest were richly ornamented vernacular interpretations of this Baroque-like style.
