* Suggest deadbolts with features that will increase security, such as stainless steel bolts with a roller insert that resists sawing and cutting, deadbolts with throws longer than 1" and a
strike plate that is secured using 3" screws.
Mounting a 1" or longer throw deadbolt with 3" screws to secure the
strike plate to the wall stud increases the security.
Both the magnet and the
strike plate assembly are only 1 1/2 inches wide in the doorframe, making it suitable for most commercial doors.
Then install a strong
strike plate that's securely attached to the wall framing with long screws (Photo 2).
When it is depressed by the
strike plate, it prevents the latch bolt from being moved back.
A magnetic lock is comprised of two components: an electromagnet and a
