Description:Provides outdoor service opportunities for high school students and expense-paid internships for college students and other adults to assist with conservation projects in national parks, wilderness areas, and other sites nationwide. Members: 3,000 annual members and 50,000 alumni. Dues: Donations accepted.

Today, as honorary founding president and an active member of the Student Conservation Association (SCA), Putnam has indeed put in over four decades of extra credit.
