summation tone
[sə′mā·shən ‚tōn] (acoustics)
Combination tone, heard under certain circumstances, whose pitch corresponds to a frequency equal to the sum of the frequencies of the two components.

Summation Tone
a combination tone of frequency to, ω1 + ω2 that arises in a nonlinear acoustic system under the action of two sound oscillations having the frequencies to, ω1 and ω2 (see alsoCOMBINATION OSCILLATIONS).
