Suprasl Chronicle

The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased.

Supraśl Chronicle

(Suprasliensis Chronicle), a collection of chronicle texts dating from the first half of the 16th century and originating at the Suprasl Monastery (now in Poland). Most of the texts in the chronicle are extracts from the Novgorod Chronicles IV and V, which were based on the Pskov chronicle compilation of the second half of the 15th century.

Of particular interest in the Suprasl Chronicle are unique entries concerning events taking place in Kiev and Volynia between 1480 and 1513, and a lengthy account of the battle near Orsha in 1514.
