Radiographs in ventrodorsal and lateral planes demonstrated shortened vertebral bodies of
thoracic vertebrae (T) 5-7, with irregular vertebral endplates, consecutive widening of the intervertebral disc spaces, and severe, relatively smooth, periosteal reactions ventrally (Fig 1).
The scout MRI helped identify some mild scoliosis and confirmed the presence of 14
thoracic vertebrae, counting from the cervical spine down, according to Young and colleagues.
Additionally, a physical examination showed that her activities were limited by mild lumbar scoliosis, and she had tenderness on
thoracic vertebrae 11 and 12 and lumbar vertebrae 2 and 4.
The boy was not given stem cell iherapy and was bom wilh severe and widespread bone damage, including numerous fractures and kyphosis of the
thoracic vertebrae, which causes such overcurvature of the spine that it impairs breathing.
With lumbar hyperlordosis, the middle
thoracic vertebrae tend to be more wedged, and the lumbar vertebrae tend to be more reverse-wedged [22].
There was the spinous process of C3, which was a minimally displaced fracture at the tip of C3 and a compression fracture of T6 (
thoracic vertebrae).
Two more articulated vertebrae are the second (Figure 9(9)) and third (Figure 9(11))
thoracic vertebrae which are heavily chewed (Figure 9(12)).
Thoracic Vertebrae. There were 13
thoracic vertebrae with a total thoracic column length of 7.4 cm ranging from 0.5 cm to 0.8 cm and the vertebral canal diameter varying between 0.4 and 0.6 cm (Table 1).
Only one unambiguous case has been seen in SA, where 2 arrow points remained embedded in the lower
thoracic vertebrae of a young adult female from Quoin Point on the southern Cape coast (Fig.
columbi--Remains of the mammoth consisted of a right femur (SHM 85.126.1I), a left radius (SHM 17716.G), a right inominate (SHM 177160), a left tusk (85.126.1J), the axis (85.126.1b), two
thoracic vertebrae (SHM 85.126.1c and SHM 17716c), three partial cervical vertebrae (SHM 17716d, 85.126.1d, and one uncatalogued), a partial sacrum (SHM 17716y), and six ribs (SHM17716u, SHM 17716t, SHM 17716p, SHM 177168, and two uncatalogued).
Under chloroform anaesthesia, and in the prone position, the spines and laminae of the
thoracic vertebrae 4, 5 and 6 were resected (laminectomy), and the dural sac exposed and opened--nothing abnormal was found.
