Tickfaw State Park
Location:32 miles southeast of Baton Rouge and 7 miles from the center of Springfield on LA 1037.
Facilities:30 improved campsites, 20 unimproved tent sites, comfort stations, 14
cabins (2 @di), group camp, picnic areas, group shelters, playground,
canoe rentals, water playground, trails (é), exhibits, outdoor
amphitheater, nature center, gift shop.
Activities:Camping, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, skating, birding, wildife viewing, guided canoe tours, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is a nature-based recreational site, designed for nature study and
conservation education. Its mile-long boardwalk trail passes through
four distinct ecosystems: cypress-tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood
forest, mixed pine and hardwood forest, and the riparian area of
Tickfaw River.
