The trig point and its '
toposcope' is used by walkers to navigate the view at the popular area of natural beauty - and the plaque points out key landmarks including Chequers, the Dunstable Downs and on a clear day even The Cotswolds.
Using the engraved
toposcope as a guide, you can spot everything from the BT Tower to the QE Hospital and so much more.
Car parks are in Warren Lane (next to the Visitor Centre), Rose Hill (for access to golf, tennis, bowls), Monument Lane (for Beacon Hill and the
toposcope).
The
Toposcope houses an 'Indicator', pointing out over 360 degrees and a 67-mile radius all the locations which can certainly be seen from here.
And you can see for miles from Oaklands Rec in Yardley, the
Toposcope at Beacon Hill in the Lickeys, from the Clent Hills and Barr Beacon's War Memorial.
The metal
toposcope at the top of Worcestershire Beacon went missing some time between August 31 and lunchtime on September 1.
Keep ahead to the
toposcope. Here you can rest awhile to admire the fabulous views of Meon Hill and the Avon Valley.
There's also a visitor centre, cafe and a great panoramic view from the
toposcope on Beacon Hill.
To mark the place (besides the inevitable triangulation plinth) is a seat to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Cotswold Way in 1995 and a
toposcope to identify the surrounding hills.
Nearing the main road swing left to pass a
toposcope on which you can identify distant features.
The park's
toposcope has fabulous views towards the hills of Clent and Malvern.
Turn left along the ridge top to the
toposcope and linger awhile to admire the view.
