Towosahgy State Historic Site
Location:13 miles southeast of East Prairie, off Highway 77 on County Road 502 in Mississippi County.
Facilities:Interpretive exhibits.
Special Features:This state historic site preserves the remains of a once-fortified
Indian village, which also was an important ceremonial center. Indians
of the Mississippian Culture inhabited the site between AD 1000 and
1400.
